Total number of pcs in my 2 storey semi-detached SHOPHOUSE

Once upon a time, there used to be a PentiumII 400Mhz in my room. Then Chen went NUS and so he bot a second PC, a spanking new AThlon 2000 (1.67ghz) and the old PC went to the storeroom. Then 1 mth later, Chen bot a Dell 2Ghz laptop. So, there's 3 pCs in the house, though only 2 is in use.

A few mths ago, Chen has this crazy idea of collecting old unwanted unused unclean pcs that his frens want to discard and thus he began going to their hses to take the old pcs and monitors back.

For what? What use does an old pc has?

Plenty, if u ask me:
1) Use purely as a firewall. Dun ask me how. i dunno too.. heheh
2) Use as router: Linux router project.
3) As wireless router (with wifi card inside of course).
4) As file server/ FTP server (ala the H: drive in NUS)
5) Expensive paper weight
6) Smalll anchor for small boats
7) Cheapo no frills internet-capable machines to place in strategic locations in your HOSE so that internet is only a click away.
8) Wireless portal so that any tom, kiddie or kaine can use the internet AND yet keep ur own lan private. Much like a public hotspot ala Coffee Bean (starhub) or starbucks (singnet).

Now i have 4 PCs in my home:
1 in level 1 shopfront for my dad to surf www.zaobao.com
2 in bedroom for my 2 brothers
1 in living room for me to surf msn and watch SOCCER at the same time!

I plan to set up 1 more in the living room to act as a file server/ftp server OR just a linux terminal. Heh hehe
