My thoughts on using Picasa 2.0 after 1 mth

The answer is simple. Picasa is a damn bloody good elegant piece of software. Here are some things that i did which saves me a few mins each day:

1) It makes me a photoshop expert without breaking into a sweat thinking about layers.

2) It allows me to plug in my CF memory card into the card reader, and windows will automatically pop up a dialogue that says "Open folder to view files; Use Picasa to import files; View slideshow; etc". I simply chose "Use Picasa to import files" and viola, the files on my CF card are transferred to my hard disk, deleted from my CF card (i enabled that option), and Picasa was launched for me to edit the files!

3) Choosing all the files that i want to post in Blogger, i simply click on the Hello (Hello is a small app that links with Picasa for posting to blogger) icon and i can enter captions for all my photos before posting to bloggerland.

4) Similarly, if i dun want to post to bloggerland, i can click on the "Email" icon and a Gmail (i set it to Gmail) dialogue box will pop up, i enter the email address (if u have entered the address in Gmail before, Gmail will remember and automagically complete the address for u!) and then click send! Picasa auto helps me to resize the picture files to 1024x768 resolution so that the files that i send will not clog up my friend's email account. This is esp important for me as i like to send in 1 shot 10 or more pics to my friends! WOOOOO HOO~~

Overall, i would give Picasa a 10/10. There's no flaws in the software and i can't live without it. Using my Nikon camera and nokia phone, there's no better software for me than Picasa. I don't even need to install the proprietry Nikon software. It just... works!
