congrats PAP, SDA and WP!

watched the elections on CNA, quite exciting actually.

Congrats to Mr Chiam See Tong, Low Khia Thiang (did i get your name correct?) and to PM Lee for winning this 2006 elections.

Some things, i'm not happy about. Eg: sueing T.T. Durai just before the elections so that the opposition parties cant talk about the NKF issue, character assasination of Mr Gomez, dangling of the S$80mil upgrading carrot for Potong Pasir and S$100mil for Hougang, non-commenting of elections issues on the internet and banning of podcasts. With such a general high level of IT sophistication nowadays, does the PAP really think the internet can be policed ala china style? Guess the people of these P.P and Hougang have spoken with their votes. But .. but .. good job PAP, WP and SDA on winning your respective electorates.

Some issues not answered, such as wat are the exact form of means testing for class C wards, transparancy of the GIC (Govt of SG Investment Corp), actual costs of HDB flats, and of cause the perennial topic: cost of living.

Some issues are still around, such as the forming of GRCs (c'mon, do you really thing the representation of minorities is the real reason for GRCs?), non-equal coverage of the Opposition parties by the MSM (mainstream media)....

Anyway the elections 2006 is over! Back to the mundane life of work and family!
