my trusty old general dell inspiron 4150 laptop... SPOILT!

Dunno why, the hinge of the lcd on the laptop worn out suddenly.

The laptop cannot boot up. The power would go on for like 10secs and then the laptop would die off.

Probably its a faulty mobo i suspect.

HOW? NO WARRANTY?

Since the cpu chip's a pentium 4-M 2.0Ghz, i reckon the chip can still be used for a new pc, running on socket 478. A quick glance at vr-zone.com/sls shows that a cheapo socket 478 mobo costs $92 dollars.

Have to factor in the following too:
1) Mobo $92
2) Casing + cheapo psu $70
3) KB + Mouse $30
4) Monitor 17" lcd $369
5) 80gb hdd $99
6) cdrw $36 (i already got an dvd burner at home, can save $50 by buying cdrw)
7) 512mb ram $75
Note: LAN Card, Graphics card and sound card are all built in.

Total damage: $760

FUCK.
